For lunch options the best advice I can give is always choose top quality meat/protein substitute, a good portion of carbs and as much vegetables as you want. By keeping to this rule your feeding your body adequately and giving it all the nutrients it needs to heal/recover.
Choosing a good quality meat/protein substitute helps your body use these important amino acids to rebuild you from the inside out.
The carbs will help keep your mind focused and allow you to function affectively for your everyday tasks. I really find it hard to understand when some people go on diets and cut carbs out of their diet completely. Firstly unless your doing it for medical grounds(which I know it works very effectively for) then you really don’t need to cut your carbs completely. Your just going to end up feeling really weak and unable to function correctly add a newborn baby to the mix and it can really affect your efficiency to look after your child. In my opinion when you have not long had a baby and a csection your top priority is feeding that child and getting your health back please don’t be bullied into thinking you just have to snap back to the way you were before the birth.
If you find that your always hungry then add lots of vegetables to your plate, the fiber especially in green veggies will help keep you feeling fuller for longer and again help boost your micronutrients for the day.
My top 3 tips for a healthy lunch are:
1️⃣ try to get a lean meat protein or substitute.
2️⃣ always keep your carbs in whether its grains, potatoes, pasta etc never leave them out.
3️⃣ pile your plate with green veggies especially if you find your always hungry while trying to eat better.
